Many of you may have heard about POWERYOURTRADE, stock tips and call services from MONEYCONTROL/CNBC-TV18. POWERFULPICKS recently received a free 9 day trial of the service, which costs between Rs 7500-12000 per year, depending on the package you choose. In trial, I got to try their super combo package that has everything. I got calls from famous analysts like Mitesh Thacker and Aswhani Gujral
I noticed that they give calls every 30 minutes or 1 hour and then after 15 minutes, when you have actually purchased, they will say 'call is not going as per expectation; please sell off'' A few times, calls are given at Rs 100 (example) with a target of Rs 112, when it goes to Rs 102, SMS comes...'book profits now' and in no time the script drops to Rs 98. Even if it stays at 101 or 102, the brokerage you pay takes away most of the profits. 75-80% of the calls fall under these scenarios.
And all the somewhat good calls they have given (3 out of 30) have already been covered by powerfulpicks, which is a free service.
I think many of these paid services run in collusion with brokerage houses, so that both the call service people and the brokerages make money at the expense of retail investors, who get loss or no profit for most of the scripts.
I am no one to influence your judgment. This was just an experience I shared. Be careful of the quality of calls when you go for paid services, many of which make you pay through the nose and in fact some of them are operator operated. They offload positions by giving calls to innocent investors and make money out of the call too.
I agree 100% with what you are saying. Infact I invested over 5 lacs on the calls given by the so called " Analysts" and all i got after a year was a loss. I came upon your tips through some mail and then after subscribing to your calls... am looking at some profit. eventually i wish to pull out all my money presently locked up in bad calls and will invest as per your call. Am positive it will be a sucess.
